This was so much fun. My students really got into the eco-friendly aspect of the build.
They thought of so many different ways to power their home and emergency flotation devices as well.

This lesson was a hit! My students really loved the design process. During the lesson they fully became aware of what architects have to do and focus on while building a new home.

My students LOVED getting to learn and “become” an architect. So many of my students had never interacted with someone who chose this profession before. They had SO many questions. Through the experiments and hands on engaging activities, it was not long until all of my middleschooler were going to grow up the next Frank Lloyd Wright! I might even have to plan a field trip to see Falling Water now! Over all the lesson plan was easy to execute, had all the necessary materials to make the prep simpler and over all, my students had a blast.

I would recommend this program to anyone looking to enhance their curriculum with a stem and career focus.

My 5th graders loved this project. I was able to turn it into a week long project and students really got to dig in and use their creativity. The peer evaluation was a a great tool for students to get experience using as well. Would have loved to have a self-evaluation option as well!

I would allow for more time than expected. I split the project up over 4/5 days at 40minutes per lesson. The results were worth the extra time.

My 6th graders love this project. We have a Nature Trail on our campus with Bear Creek running through it and this was where we took our floating home to test.
