My kids LOVED this lesson! I did it with 4th grade and they had an absolute ball. The only thing I would love to see is a planning page. I gave my students a piece of paper to draw their design and to jot down their ideas and that seemed to make it a little smoother.
My grade 4-6 students really enjoyed this activity and built some great designs! We love these STEM challenges where they are given a variety of materials and get to choose which they think would work best. Every group’s roller coaster design was different!
